The General Workers' Union is threatening action after it said Valletta Gateway Terminal employed two Filipinos to train Maltese workers to operate machinery.

The union said it is insisting that the employees should be with the Filipinos all the time so that they will master the technique as soon as possible and start doing the work themselves.

The union has called on the Employment and Training Corporation to intervene and look into the work permits issued to the Filipinos.
