During 2006 there were 69 persons who died tragically, Justice and Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said in reply to a parliamentary question by Adrian Vassallo (MLP).

Eleven men died after traffic accidents, 20 men and four women committed suicide, four men and two women died of overdoses, and 20 men and eight women died tragically of other causes.
