Recently the Zebbug local council decided to give a facelift to Serafin Tanti Street in Tal-Grazzja area. I appreciate the effort to re-surface this road.
I would like to put some questions to the council: On which criteria are roads selected for re-surfacing? Why has this road been given priority over other streets in this area?
For the past years, the roads in Tal-Grazzja have been in a terrible state. Most of them are in a much worse condition than Serafin Tanti Street was. Some, such as A. Aquilina Street, have never been given a layer of tarmac. Therefore, it is natural that residents doubt the council's decision to prioritise certain streets over others in the same area and with the same volume of traffic.
Some of these streets are Hal Dwin, Patri P. Mifsud, J. Zammit, Baziluku, Buttigieg, Hal Sajd, P. Debono, Karlu Gimach and Mithna streets.
These streets have not even featured in the 2007-9 residential roads project being undertaken by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Can our local council or the ministry give us an indication of when our area will be given attention?
