Beauty marathon, entertainment at Park of Friendship fund-raiser

The MCAST-Razzett Hair and Beauty marathon will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Park of Friendship, in Marsascala.

For the 36-hour marathon, the park's main hall will be transformed into a large salon where MCAST students will work with professional hairdressers and beauty therapists, providing hair and beauty services at discounted rates to raise funds for the park.

During the event, students following the MCAST-BTEC First Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences and the MCAST-BTEC National Diploma in Sport will hold games on the model of the summer TV series It's A Knockout

Students from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering will set up a digital countdown clock they designed and will organise a carwash and football tournament.

Art and Design students will sell their own works while Maritime students together with the St John Rescue Team will perform rescue drills. The Comunio group within the Institute of Business and Commerce will provide entertainment.

Students from the Institute of Agribusiness will be selling herbs and plants, while those following care and health studies will be selling delicacies they would have prepared.

The Institute of Mechanical Engineering will be holding car tests.

Popular singers, dancers and artistes will provide entertainment.
