Professors Robert M. Borg and Horatio A. Vella were promoted to Associate Professors by the University Council at its meeting last month. During the same council meeting a number of lecturers were promoted to Senior Lecturers and other appointments involved promotions to Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer grade.

Congratulations to all those promoted to these well-deserved positions. It is good to note that the promotions of the Associate Professors were backdated to 2004.

The academic staff at the University would like to express their appreciation to the Rector Professor Juanito Camilleri and his team for dealing with this long due exercise effectively and efficiently, notwithstanding the difficulties associated with such a delicate process.
