HSBC increases credit interest rate on savings accounts

HSBC Bank Malta plc has increased its credit interest rate on Maltese lira savings accounts to 1.25 per cent per annum with effect from last Thursday. The review follows the decision made by the Central Bank of Malta to increase the central intervention rate by 25 basis points last month.

A schedule of the interest payable on all products can be found on HSBC's Website www.hsbc.com.mt. Relevant details can also be obtained by calling Customer Service on 2380-2380, or from all HSBC branches in Malta and Gozo.

APS Bank revises rates...

Following the Central Bank decision to increase the central intervention rate last month by 25 basis points, APS Bank has reviewed upwards its interest rates on loans and advances and term deposits denominated in Maltese liri.

...as does Volksbank

Following the recent announcement by the Central Bank of Malta that the central intervention rate has been raised by 25 basis points, Volksbank Malta Limited has also revised its credit interest rates on Maltese lira accounts.

The new credit interest being paid on retail account with cheque book facility is 1.5 per cent.

A schedule of interest payable on all term accounts can be found on www.volksbank.com.mt and may be also made available on request.
