The Union Haddiema Maghqudin and the Ministry for Gozo have reached an agreement over the working week of ambulance drivers in Gozo who are now working the same number of hours as their Maltese counterparts - 46 and two-thirds per week, the union said.

The UHM said the new arrangement will reduce the need of overtime but will guarantee a better pay for drivers.

It said the agreement was reached on the insistence of its Health Services Section and following the intervention of the Minister for Gozo. The agreement came into force yesterday.
