Form 3 students of Kan. P. Pullicino Girls' Secondary School in Rabat were recently the winners of a murals competition, Global Youth Murals Project organised by People to People International.

The students, helped by art teachers Marlene Caruana and Marisa Tabone, produced three murals which depicted typical Maltese scenes and customs. The participating murals were exhibited at the Global Youth Forum held in Kansas City, Missouri, US and at the Images Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri.

Their mural Celebrating Unity The Maltese Way was selected as the winner in middle-school level. They were awarded $50 USD. The mural will be featured in the next issue of People To People International's annual magazine, People. It will also appear on the internet gallery of murals at http://gallery.takingitglobal.org/PTPIGYM.

School and classroom programmes, such as People To People International, are being promoted by the Student Services and International Relations within the Education Department. People To People International works to enhance understanding and friendship between people of different countries and cultures.
