Sliema Wanderers will have to make do without two regular players for their top-of-the-table encounter with Marsaxlokk tomorrow after defenders Jeffrey Chetcuti and Clifton Ciantar were banned for one match yesterday.
Chetcuti and Ciantar were among four Premier League players who received a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner.
The two Sliema players were liable for punishment after both collected their fourth yellow card in the 1-0 defeat of Valletta on Saturday.
Uzeh Edafe, Valletta's Nigerian midfielder, has also been suspended for one match following his sending-off against Sliema.
Referee Joe Attard gave Edafe a straight red card 11 minutes from the end of Saturday's game for elbowing Sliema midfielder Roderick Bajada in the face. Edafe will now have to skip Valletta's next league against Marsa on Saturday.
Ryan Newell, the Floriana defender, completes the list of suspended players after getting his fourth yellow card in the 3-0 victory over St George's on Sunday. The ban rules Newell out of Floriana's fixture against Pietà on Saturday.
