A troupe of 35 dancers are honing their act for their upcoming show Circle of Senses.

Shows will be held on February 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 - and Charles & Ron of Beatrix salon, the costume designers, are working in overdrive fitting the dancers.

One of Yada's founders, Felix Busuttil, who has produced and who is directing the dance spectacle, said he had tackled this year's show with a fresh approach and a fresh creative input.

"It will have music mainly from the splendid compositions of Cirque Du Soleil and other spellbinding music such as Scarlet Johannson's The Island.

"It is a feast of dance, theatre and visual effects. The base and raw humanity is uplifted to a different level. Scents, wind and other elements will constitute just a little of the many surprises in store at this awesome choreographic spectacle," he said.

Mr Busuttil was one of the brains behind the setting up of Yada Dance Company in 1984, from which stemmed the College of Jazz Dance in 1989, and has turned Yada into powerful force in the local world of dance.

He has worked with Justin Roy Barker, Vivienne Fielding Refalo, Alison Bird, Theresa Kerr, Silvio Oddi and Kledi Kadiu on various productions. "This show will have a quantified and qualified ensemble of exceptional dancers," he said.

"It is another Yada journey into the stimulus of colour, movement and light. It's a journey to the exotic and colourful world of India, the raw world of Africa, the freedom of love in the Western world, the hunt and the hunted in the Orient, the mystifying world of Arabia amongst other corners in this stimulating planet. The planet that needs to be protected, that needs to be healed from all its fear through the ultimate introduction of the sixth sense - the sense that lives beyond the realms of reality."
