Norbert Pace, current mayor of Attard, recently stated in public that he will contest the next local council elections, to be held on March 10. Therefore can the Nationalist Party explain to residents of Attard why Mr Pace, who has contested the elections for the past nine years, is not on the list of its candidates?

How is it possible that a candidate who contested the June 2004 elections - and who won no fewer than 1,131 votes when the quota was 703 and the other PN candidates were struggling to get elected - is cast aside?

Is this the way the party wants to be re-elected in the next general election? By going against the wishes of the majority of Attard residents? Is this not going against our right to elect whom we want?

We have always voted for Mr Pace because in these last nine years our suggestions and complaints have always been heard and our requests implemented.

Therefore, it is about time that the PN gave residents of Attard some attention and implemented our requests. We want Mr Pace again and not another victory by the others celebrated on TV again.
