Three tents have been set up in Valletta and Mdina to allow the public to follow the episcopal ordination of the new Archbishop, Mgr Paul Cremona.

Since the Church is anticipating that the Cathedral in Mdina where the vigil will be held and St John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta, the venue of the ordination, will be crammed with people wanting to witness this historic event, the tents should be able to accommodate a few hundred more who will be able to follow the ceremony on big screens.

The tent in Mdina can take up to 900 people seated to watch the vigil of prayer on Thursday, the day Mgr Cremona celebrates his 61st birthday and the eve of his ordination.

There will be two tents in Valletta: One in front of the President's Palace, which can take 2,500 seated, and the other in front of St John's, which can accommodate over 800.

Entrance to this tent is only possible on presentation of a ticket issued by the Curia.

On Friday Church bells will start pealing at noon for 15 minutes, while the frontispiece and crosses will remain lit until 11 p.m. Those churches which have flagpoles will be flying flags of Malta and of the Pope on Friday.

There are very few tickets left for entrance to the tent in front of St John's Co-Cathedral. For information send an e-mail to info@maltachurch.org.mt.
