I fully support Mr Lorenzo Zahra's appeal for the Vittoriosa marina clock tower to be restored (The Sunday Times, December 17).

While the much needed restorations are going on, perhaps the restorers could spare some time to repair the clock tower on Senglea's St Michael's bastion, which has also fallen into disrepair.

It would indeed be a pity if we were to lose these two imposing structures through negligence and apathy.
