To be one of tomorrow's successful leaders requires that one is both a specialist and a generalist. The manager or leader of the future must look at all aspects of his position within the organisation and must seek to enhance his strengths while controlling his weaknesses.

Executive Development is a highly relevant, practical training programme aimed towards managers and executives from any area of business who wish to develop their personal skills and improve their overall effectiveness, both absolute essentials in today's demanding environment.

Delegates will be equipped with the skills necessary to be creative thinkers, successful decision-makers, communicators and organisers, underpinned by increased self-knowledge and enhanced interpersonal skills. Participants will hence be able to discover and analyse their innate potential and learn how to build on this to enhance their executive performance.

Programme trainer is Philip Bourne, an associate trainer with MISCO, who has vast experience in training provision. In 1984 he became director of management training and three years later, main board director of TACK Training International, one of the UK's largest training organisations.

In 1996 he set up his own business in association with TACK, providing training to overseas associates, and was appointed associate director of MISCO-TACK Training Europe in 1996.

Mr Bourne has been visiting Malta and running management development training programmes for MISCO since 1989. His vast experience, combined with his enthusiasm and unique style, make his courses not only informative but also a worthwile experience.

The next Executive Development programme will be delivered at MISCO on Monday and Tuesday, January 29 and 30. Take the opportunity to enhance your own or your team members' skills in the most effective and enjoyable way.

Business Process Re-engineering

Business Process Reengineering, a one-day workshop delivered by Peter Brown, in his unique style, is designed to appeal to personnel in charge of re-engineering business systems within their organisation.

This workshop offers a modern slant on Business Process Re-engineering and its objective is that of demonstrating to delegates the importance of efficient systems in meeting today's goals. It shows how systems can be tailored to reinforce the successful application of modern techniques, such as Relationship Marketing and Supply Chain Management.

This aim will be achieved through a methodology which has proven time and again to be very effective. A combination of hands-on case studies and dynamic discussion groups will be utilised to create a genuine understanding of how specific techniques can be used to add value to core processes.

Peter Brown, MISCO's associate trainer, delivers a number of training programmes focusing on the technical aspects of managing a business. Having occupied the post of general manager with a German multi-national engineering group, as well as main board director of a large UK-based group, did not leave him lacking experience.

He hence opted for a change in career and progressed to become director of management training with a major international training organisation, after which he became a freelance training consultant, and has since provided numerous programmes for a wide array of clients, ranging from major multi-nationals to SMEs in Europe, Asia, and Africa, across a wide range of industries and public services. Among these are manufacturing, banking, pharmaceuticals and travel, as well as a number of companies operating in the offshore oil industry.

This programme will be delivered at MISCO on February 14.
