With reference to Frans H. Said's letter, Cisterns In The City (January 15), I wish to inform readers that in my recent publication, The Public Gardens And Groves Of The Maltese Islands (PIN publication no. 44, available for sale from leading bookshops) I have listed the whereabouts of:
A substantial number of government public cisterns in all towns and villages, including Valletta, pertaining to those built by the Knights of St John by the British services and by subsequent Maltese governments;
Dams in valleys, including those of Chadwick Lakes and of the Good Luck Valley system (Progett: Risq il-Widien]) and
Wartime shelters which were converted into reservoirs.
