Bocelli concert - a reverberation

As one of the lucky ones present at the Bocelli concert, even if perhaps belated I felt I could not but express the enjoyment I felt on that particular Saturday night.
I definitely do not consider myself a music critic but, precisely as a profane music lover - like the majority of the audience present, I presume - one must say a big thank you and well done to one and all.
The entrepreneurial initiative of the Renaissance Productions, after the Joseph Calleja experience, has surpassed yet another main test this time. It was a massive challenge for one and all not only for the organisers Amabile Zammit and Anton Tabone but also for the orchestra and singers alike. The latter had perhaps never faced such a huge audience but they (orchestra and singers) emerged with flying colours.
Soprano Lydia Caruana made everyone feel proud to be Maltese. Baritone Bronikowski was a star while Bocelli, the main attraction, performed better and better as the show went on. The national orchestra put up a five-star performance. It provided Bocelli with exquisite rendering of the music he sang to. Carlo Bernini, the conductor, directed the orchestra with passion. Bocelli himself gave an impeccable performance even if he had been on Maltese soil for a few hours only.
The enjoyment was supreme and the people loved Bocelli deliriously. He must have felt it because one could see how he grew more and more determined to give it his best as the performance progressed.
The organisation was good, the setting was good. The multi-purpose Malta Fairs and Convention Centre has broken new ground. It served its purpose excellently in the L-Istrina event that followed.
It fills with hope to move forward those who run it.
