A positive experience

As in past years, during the festive season we have organised the usual Christmas crib exhibition with a view to emphasising the real Christian meaning of this sacred event. We have always believed that the Maltese people still cherish their heartfelt traditions and spare no effort to exhibit their artistic talents during this time of the year.

We consider as positive the fact that, in spite of the ever-growing commercial aspect of Christmas, the birth of Christ is still held by many as the genuine significance of the festive season.

The long list of crib exhibitions in public places, apart from the many biblical scenes put up in most private homes, is proof that we Maltese can still show visitors that this is for us an annual holy celebration.

We are proud that year after year we organise our annual event that includes many exhibits from private collections and an almost life-size crib for which Ir-Razzett tal-Markiz is so well renowned.

Comments from thousands who have visited our premises indicate how much they appreciate that they can find such a variety of sizes and artistic talents in one place.

It is customary that Talent Mosti invites a national personality to inaugurate these events and this year we thank Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi for accepting our invitation to be our guest of honour on December 12.

Since that day Ir-Razzett has been a special attraction for people from all parts of our islands together with plenty of tourists who are most appreciative of local traditions. Talent Mosti wishes to thank local tourist operators and coach drivers for including our premises in their Christmas itinerary.

We also wish to thank various heads of school and other organisers for bringing over hundreds of students to admire the high-level exhibits. We believe this will induce our young generation to fully appreciate local Christian traditions.

Our thanks also go to all the local media for their constant support during the year and especially our traditional Christmas exhibition.

It is dutiful to express our appreciation to the head and school council of the Lily of the Valley Girls' Junior Lyceum, adjacent to our premises, for their continuous cooperation in all our activities.
