In response to Wylie Cunningham's letter (Land Of The Free? January 12), as he put it, yes, the US is the land of the free and the home of the brave.
The fingerprint measures that he says are an insult to civil liberties are put into place to prevent further terrorist acts and to make it safer for everyone.
And what is the difference between two fingers and 10 fingers? If one has nothing to hide, than being in the FBI database should not matter. If one has nothing to fear then fingerprinting shouldn't be a bother.
To put it simply, all countries have different laws and if someone does not feel comfortable being fingerprinted than he or she should not go. The US is not asking those who object to these security measures to go and they don't need them to go. It's as simple as that.
