Learning support assistants

The Education Division has 1,076 learning support assistants, namely 293 facilitators, 99 kindergarten assistants and 684 supply kindergarten assistants, Education Minister Louis Galea told Labour MP Carmelo Abela in reply to parliamentary questions yesterday.

The minister said 333 parents had requested support for their children including 29 at secondary level.

The minister said there were another 403 facilitators in Church schools and 12 in independent schools.
