Archbishop Joseph Mercieca will be keeping his annual appointment with newly married couples for a meeting organised by the Cana Movement at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta, on Sunday at 6.30 p.m.

It will be the last meeting of the sort before Mgr Mercieca's episcopate ends. Archbishop-elect Mgr Paul Cremona will be ordained on January 26. Mgr Mercieca will also celebrate Mass and address couples who were married last year.

In an invitation to newly married couples, the movement asked ladies to refrain from wearing stiletto heels to prevent damage to the paving at St John's. A previous invitation to the meeting on Saturday should be ignored, the movement said.
