I cannot understand why Stefan Grech, president of the Association of Airline Engineers, writing about Lufthansa Technik (The Sunday Times, January 7) was so irritated by my contribution a week earlier.
I merely did not mention the union of which he is president. Mr Grech seemed more preoccupied with making it a point to inform readers that AAE Malta was recognised before the Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) at Lufthansa Technik, and not that his union was placed at the same level of other unions, which caused jobs to be lost because of their intransigence.
Mr Grech should have done as I did and explained that, firstly, the AAE should not be compared to any other union, and secondly, that the AAE would never jeopardise its members' jobs by repeating others' mistakes.
