Dancers do well

Thirteen countries took part in the Malta Open Dance Spectacular held at the New University Sports Hall, with several local dancers getting good placings.

The competition included the Malta Open Wheelchair Dance Championships as well as the Amateur Ballroom and Latin Challenge Cup Championship.

Steve Fenech and Mandy Ghio placed third in the Combi Championship Class Latin American category and fourth in the Combi Championship Class Ballroom category.

Daniela Borg and Redeemer Gatt placed first and Marylene Debono and Nicholas Sammut placed fourth in the Four Dance Combi Class Latin American competition.

Ms Borg and Sarah Gatt placed second in the Duo Class for the Dance Ballroom competition.

The competitions ended with a party, when non-disabled dancers not only danced with wheelchair dancers but tried dancing in wheelchairs.
