I hate being argumentative, particularly at Christmastime, but I just cannot understand why Luke Cann (December 27) is dead set against Triq is-Sidra becoming a one-way street.

Perhaps the council's overall plan needs some fine-tuning. I really wouldn't risk a guess, but doesn't the correspondent realise that making Triq is-Sidra one-way is for the benefit and safety of us residents?

A wise decision has been made in several towns and villages where one-way traffic has been introduced. Why should Swieqi be the exception?
