The Malta Taekwondo Federation recently held its bi-annual grading examinations for Black Belts (Dan) at the Birzebbuga Primary School.

Joseph Azzopardi, 46, sat for his second Dan while Jessica Muscat, 11, undertook her first Poom/Dan exam.

The grading session was overseen by Neville Desira, the federation's technical director. He was assisted by Stephen Formosa, the president of the local federation.

Meanwhile, the Taekwondo Dra-gon Club has just conducted its last grading examinations for 2006.

The club staged two separate sessions for children and juniors/ seniors at its base in St Martin's College, Swatar.

The following candidates were promoted to a higher rank:

Yellow Tab: Angelica Ebejer, Simon Cutajar, Kyle Satariano, Angele Gauci, Justin Pisani and Andy Attard.

Yellow Belt: Mark Attard, Steve Abela and Mark Abela.

Green Tab: Gabriel Borg, Gianluca Mallia, Bartek and Michal Romanczuk.

Green Belt: Adrian Camilleri and James Cutajar.

Red Tab: David Scicluna.

The club will extend its classes with three other sessions for beginners aged between five and 10.
