Christmas Day has come and gone and the New Year is nearly here. After the thunder, lightning and heavy rain, the sun came out in the daytime and the lights came up at night. I would like to congratulate those involved in filling "Malta by Night" with such great beauty.

It is only just recently that I discovered that it is the Environmental Landscapes Consortium to whom we are indebted for changing the face of parts of Malta with beautiful flowers, lush green turf and a variety of shrubs that have adorned major roads, roundabouts and public gardens.

This Christmas the consortium has gone a step further by giving us some beautiful displays of festive lights in some major roundabouts and intersections linking the north of Malta with the south.

My favourite roundabout is that at Kappara, where the display is visible from all directions. And I was able to enjoy it even more because I was not driving!

I hope that the ELC will continue their good work after the New Year and that everyone will look after these displays and ensure that they remain an attraction for all in which to delight in the future. Well done!
