The walls of the theatre at the Catholic Institute, Floriana, are bound to hear more boos and laughter as there will be three extra shows of the pantomime Aladdin U T-Tifla Tal-Gran Mastru (Aladdin And The Grandmaster's Daughter).

These performances will be held on January 13 at 7 p.m. and on January 14 at 2 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.

In the panto, Hector Bruno, the dame, plays the part of Jasmine, while Ronald Briffa plays the part of Aladdin. The panto was written by José Micallef and is directed by Bryan Muscat. The production is by Pawlu Testa.

The script is loosely based on the Disney story of Aladdin, with Jasmine being held under the protective wings of her father, the Grandmaster. Aladdin, a market hawker sweeps her off her feet after her relationship with Richard of Brussels ends on the rocks because he's obsessed with work while she wants him to devote more time to her.

But Gafar has other plans and wants to become Grandmaster. As the plot thickens and unfolds, costumes change and the crowd is enticed to sing along and join in merry making.

Tickets are available from the Catholic Institute booking office between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and from 4.30 to 8 p.m. or by phoning 2123 8429/2122 3340.
