A Neapolitan crib with authentic 18th century figurines is on display on the ground floor of the Wignacourt Museum, in Rabat until January 11.

Apart from the birth of Christ in Roman ruins, signifying the victory of the child Christ over paganism, the annunciation to the shepherds, and the visit by the Magi, the crib depicts a typical bustling street scene in Naples.

Fr Edgar Vella, who has been researching Neapolitan cribs for over 20 years, is the mind behind the project.

The crib is open for viewing from Monday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 5 to 7.30 p.m.
