I received the good news from Maltco, the lotto people, that I had won Lm75 on the "scratchers' second chance". Well what a surprise, I thought, just in time for some nice Christmas goodies. But it was short-lived. When I went to collect the cash I found out that instead of the money, Maltco has given me another chance to win more (or lose all) by presenting me with 150 tickets to scratch, and, if lucky, win.

I think that this is very unfair. It would be a better idea if the winner could choose whether he/she would like to gamble it away or take the hard cash.

I have not started "scratching" yet but I promise to say, through these columns, how much I have won by "scratching" through 150 tickets. I should be odds on favourite to win something seeing I have all these tickets.
