A man and a woman were yesterday charged with possession of heroin with the intent to sell it on and before Tuesday.

Jon Lawrence Formosa, 28, and Philianne Ceci, 24, both of Senglea pleaded not guilty to the possession of the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for their personal use and within 100 metres of a school or youth centre. They were also charged with relapsing.

Mr Formosa was charged with trafficking in the drug.

Both were remanded in police custody.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano presided over the arraignment.

Police Inspectors Pierre Grech and Victor Aquilina prosecuted.

Lawyers Franco Debono, Joseph Giglio and Roberto Montalto were defence counsel.
