An automatic lifter for use by children with special needs was donated to the Senglea Primary School by HSBC Cares for Children Fund (HCCF) and by the school children who helped collect funds.

HCCF last year supported a pilot project at the same school with the Helen O'Grady Academy whose therapeutic and educational programme is intended to help children improve their self-esteem and give importance to language skills.

During the first and second school terms, the Helen O'Grady Academy will again run a hands-on educational programme giving the children the benefit to explore their inherent abilities.

HCCF has also distributed sets of the popular Puttinu and Toninu packs, which include an illustrated hardback book and an audio cassette.
