YWCA (Malta) (Young Women's Christian Association) believes that girls and young women can be a force for positive change in their communities. Young women find a special place in the YWCA, where they can learn, grow and have real opportunities to lead change.
YWCA (Malta) is a newly established group of women working to improve the lives of those women and children who are less privileged than themselves. Its aim is to develop the leadership and collective power of women and girls to achieve human rights, health, security, freedom, justice and peace for all people, by offering a source of hope to women and girls experiencing difficulties, by empowering them with basic skills which relate to their talents.
YWCA is a global movement of 25 million women and young women in over 100 countries, working and offering knowledge and expertise advice on issues that concern women and children and help them to develop their full potential.
YWCA (Malta) is keen on recruiting young women (under 30) interested in helping less privileged members of the community.
New members will also have the opportunity to apply to participate in the European YWCA's Study Session 2007, being organised by the European Young Women's Christian Association, to be held in Budapest in March. This is an excellent training opportunity for young members to receive knowledge and skills in human right issues, the chance to form new networks, and develop leadership skills.
Participation in this study session is free of charge; for more information call 2158-0982 or 7933-5514.
