We enclose a petition containing 1,499 signatures to remove a set of bring-in site bins from near the boundary wall of Carlo Diacono Girls' Junior Lyceum, in Zejtun.

In our school we do separate waste but we are against the bring-in site next to our school wall because it is dangerous (stopping a vehicle to dispose of waste will narrow the road to the detriment of the people using the road at the time and also of the 1,000 girls who attend our school) and also because of sanitary reasons.

A huge plastic bag was dumped there one Saturday and it wasn't before Monday, when we reported it to the local council, that they sent someone to remove it. Apart from this, the bring-in sites make it easier for unwelcome people to have access to the school because the three bins are quite high and very near to the boundary wall.

We spoke to the mayor on different occasions. We also wrote to him and suggested other alternatives but to no avail. We have signed this petition because we want the bring-in site to be removed immediately.
