The Customs Department is not taking any chances after someone broke into its store in Luqa and stole a number of pullovers, complete with the official logo.
The pollovers form part of the uniform of Customs officials whose duties include inspections at various sensitive release points.
A spokesman for the department said the pullovers were stolen after someone used a crowbar to force open the door on Sunday night.
On Wednesday the Customs Department urged Customs officials on routine duties to present their Customs identification card when performing duties with traders or any other individual.
Cases of non-compliance should be reported to the department on 2568 5101, 2568 5108 or on 2568 5153.
