The Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) recently held its annual presentations night. On the occasion, shooters from Trap, Skeet, Double Trap and Air Weapons were awarded certificates for their feats in 2006.

Among the guests at the Dolmen Resort Hotel was Mr Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco, Malta Olympic Committee president. He praised the MSSF for its success, both locally and in international competitions.

On his part, federation president Saviour Portelli thanked all the members for their support. He also expressed his organisation's joy that for a second year running a Platinum Award in the MOC Sports Awards went to one of their members - Rebecca Madyson, winner of a silver medal in Trap in the Commonwealth Games.

A Gold Award was also presented to William Chetcuti and a Bronze Award to Chetcuti and his Double Trap team-mate Rodney Micallef.

Portelli said the MSSF was proud that the MOC had given recognition to Larry Vella for his excellent showing during the 1980 Moscow Olympics and inducted him into the Hall Of Fame.

The MSSF members honoured were: Frans Pace, Eugene Borg, Ryan Bugeja, Nazzareno Attard, Stephen Vella, Nicky Carabott, Rennie Deguara, George Cassar, Joe Attard and William Chetcuti (Trap); Clive Farrugia, Paul Vella, Robert Mula, Jason Sciberras, Darren Vella, Max Fenech, Ray Camilleri and Silvio Attard (Skeet); and Lawrence Darmanin, William Vella, Patrick Azzopardi, Mario Abela and Martin Grech (Air Weapons).
