A man has been cleared of raping his former partner after she opted not to testify against him in the interest of their son.
The woman took the decision as the father of her child played an active part in the child's life and did not wish to disturb that.
Consequently, the court, presided over by Magistrate Anthony Vella, cleared the man as there was no evidence against him.
Police Inspector Sharon Tanti prosecuted.
