An Eritrean living in Msida was yesterday remanded in custody after being charged with attacking his wife and causing her grievous injuries leading to a permanent disfigurement.

Okbalidet Abe Bariya was accused of breaking his wife's nose on Saturday.

Inspector Romina Veneziani told the court the accused's wife did not want to see her husband.

Lawyer Leslie Cuschieri appeared for Mr Abe Bariya.
