Obituary
DEBONO. On December 17, MARIO, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Christine and his two daughters Brooke and Whitney, his parents France and Adelina, his sister Sandra and nephews Adam and Aleandros, his mother-in-law and brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Fgura parish church, where Mass will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Donations to the Hospice Movement will be appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.
DALMAS. On December 16, at St Luke's Hospital, MARIA RITA, née Tabone, widow of Carmelo, aged 86, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her two daughters Esther and her husband Louis Grixti, Catherine and her husband Mario Spiteri, her grandchildren Petra, Kristian and Lynn, her two sisters Sister Julia Tabone of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart and Salvina Pace, residing in the USA, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for San Girgor Cemetery chapel, Zejtun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to the charitable institutes of the Order of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart will be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.
NAUDI. On December 17, WALTER, widower of Cettina, at Villa Messina, aged 88, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his son Walter and his wife Carmen, his grandsons Ivan and his wife Elaine and Ramon and his wife Sharon, his great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Villa Messina tomorrow at 8 a.m. for San Gwann parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m.followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated.

Computer Courses
The Physically Handicapped Rehabilitation Fund and the Foundation for Information Technology Accessibility will be holding computer courses for members and non-members of the PHRF at the Corradino centre.
Reconditioned computer equipment was donated to the foundation by a number of entities, including Bank of Valletta, Enemalta Corporation, HSBC Bank Malta, the Ministry for Information Technology and the Swatar Training Centre.
The refurbishing service is funded by the Malta Community Chest Fund which makes the computers available on loan to people with disability.
The PHRF has been operating a computer lab for many years and recently the lab, which will be used for ICT training, was supplied with additional computers by Bank of Valletta.
PHRF members and non-members are being asked to fill a form which is available from Corradino and from the website www.phrfmalta.com.
Forms have to be sent to the Physically Handicapped Rehabilitation Fund, Corradino Hill, Paola by fax on 2169 3221 or by e-mail at admin@phrfmalta.com.
Power Cuts
There will be power cuts in the following streets today: in Fontana between 7.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. in Ghajn Tuta, Tal-Ghajn, Ta' Mulejja, L-Isptar San Giljan, ix-Xlendi, and Wied Tal-Lunzjata; in the entirety of Xlendi between 7.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.; in Misrah il-Barrieri between 8 a.m. and noon in Vivion, il-Fanali and Misrah il-Kebbies; in Sta Venera between 8 a.m. and noon in il-Kanun, il-Kukkanja, San Guzepp; in Ibrag between 8 a.m. and noon in il-Kwarta, l-Istalla, il-Mezza and il-Kartocc.
Sliema Concert
The philharmonic society Stella Maris together with the parish priest and clergy of the Stella Maris parish church of Sliema will be presenting a Christmas concert under a marquee at the Stella Maris parish centre, Cathedral Street, Sliema on December 22 at 7.15 p.m.
Tickets can be obtained against a donation of Lm1 from the Stella Maris Band Club at 7, Annunciation Square, Sliema or by phoning 2133 1743.
Treaty Of Rome Anniversary
The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts has been asked to nominate Maltese artistes in the music and theatre spheres to participate in celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Rome Treaty that gave birth to the European Union.
The incoming German presidency of the EU will be holding a number of activities including cultural events with the participation of artistes from several EU countries.
Maltese artistes who would like to be considered for participation, which will take place on March 24 and 25 in Germany, are to write to the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, 230, Republic Street, Valletta and express their interest.
Expressions of interest should reach the council by next Friday.
Casals Painting
Contemporary artist Richard Saliba has presented an original painting of Pablo Casals, the famous Spanish violoncello player, to the Sliema Philharmonic Society to further embellish its main halls.
Pablo Casals was born in 1878 and died in 1973.
