The European Documentation and Research Centre (EDRC), in conjunction with the Malta European Studies Association (MESA), with the support of the European Commission, is holding a series of lectures on Thursday at the Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort, St Julian's, starting at 6.15 p.m. The main topic is 'The Citizen Asks: Do We Need a Constitution for Europe?'
In the light of a new push for a Constitutional Treaty after the failure to ratify it in France and the Netherlands, Malta has ratified, but many have not. Should we rethink our position?
This series of lectures and discussions will help answer this important question. A full discussion is needed.
The first lecture will be given by Professor Jo Shaw, Salvesen Chair of European Institutions, University of Edinburgh, and Senior Research Fellow at the Federal Trust for Education and Research in London.
More information and booking is available by e-mail: edrc@um.edu.mt. Those interested should book by not later than Tuesday.
