Re/Max Malta attends regional directors meeting in Spain

Re/Max reaches 120,000 associate milestone

Re/Max, represented by its regional directors Jeffrey and Kevin Buttigieg, was recently at the Westin La Quinta Golf Resort, Marbella, Spain. The two directors met up with colleagues from all over Europe to discuss the latest trends in the real estate market and targets for the last quarter of 2006 and the first quarter of 2007.

One of the workshops included in the three-day meeting consisted of the designs for a new RE/MAX Europe corporate identity, as well as an aggressive marketing strategy for 2007. Sabine Hacker, manager for marketing and communications at RE/MAX Europe, explained that for the upcoming year RE/MAX plan a European-wide advertising campaign to create a stronger brand profile. RE/MAX has already been a sponsor of Formula One, FIS Skiing, European football games, and other high profile events. However, along with these types of sponsorships there will be much more.

Attending the meeting was special guest Dave Liniger, chairman and co-founder of Re/Max, who said that the Re/Max network had just reached the milestone of 120,000 associates in 63 different countries.

"The larger the Re/Max network grows, the more advertising will be spent on the brand to ensure market prominence in every region that we are present," said Mr Liniger.

"Besides spending more on advertising, we will continue to invest in real estate programmes for our associates to enhance the service that our customers experience," he added.

With great gratitude, Mr Liniger informed the European regional directors that the Re/Max advertising budget for 2007 will be of $1.5billion.

Chuck Lemire, a 20-year veteran in the real estate industry, was recently appointed managing director and chief operations officer for Re/Max Europe. Mr Lemire will be replacing Bill Soteroff, a 13-year veteran of Re/Max, in the driving seat at Re/Max Europe for the past five years, who will be moving to Re/Max International as senior vice-president, International Operations.

During Mr Soteroff's time, Re/Max had grown to 8,700 sales associates in 44 regions with over 1,400 franchises in 31 countries.
