Mini tiara for young feline beauty queen

Micabliss Swami, a five-month-old Persian kitten, is being groomed for success and despite her young age she has already beat her furry friends to win the title Best Christmas Kitten.

The kitten was crowned with a mini tiara brought over especially from Italy during the second International Cat Show.

The prestigious title of Super General Best, chosen by two foreign judges - Laura Ghirimoldi and Paulo Ruschi - went to Micabliss Natalia.

During the show the judges realised that some cats were not up to the standard as listed on their pedigree and, unfortunately, these had to be judged under the category of house cats.

Despite this, their comments on the show were very positive especially from Mr Ruschi, vice president of the World Cat Federation.

"He was very satisfied with the set-up and the whole organisation in general. He didn't expect to witness such a show after just one year since the club became full member of the federation," club president Kevin Charles Micallef said.

Mr Micallef thanked all the sponsors and the committee members who worked very hard to put this show together.

The club will be hosting another cat show on February 18 at the Coastline Hotel. Besides this, the next International Cat Show will be held from March 24 to 25 at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St George's Bay.

Applications are open for both shows.
