The draw for the UEFA Champions League first KO round will take place today at noon in Nyon.

Among the eight group winners and eight runners-up who will be in the hat at UEFA headquarters, are the three most successful clubs in the history of the competition - nine-time winners Real Madrid, six-time champions Milan and a Liverpool side who lifted the Champion League cup for a fifth occasion in 2005.

Holders Barcelona are among the second seeds along with two other teams who have twice been kings of the continent, Inter and Porto.

Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other. Group winners will be pitted against group runners-up provided they don't come from the same group. All group runners-up will play their first-leg matches at home.

The first knock-out round ties will be played on February 20/21 and March 6/7.

The final will be staged in Athens on May 23.

Group winners: Chelsea , Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Valencia, Lyon, Manchester United, Arsenal, Milan.

Group runners-up: Barcelona, Inter, PSV, Roma, Real Madrid, Celtic, Porto, Lille.
