Christmas activities in Valletta organised by the National Folklore Commission of the Tourism and Culture Ministry in aid of the Community Chest Fund kick off today at 6 p.m. with a programme of entertainment. Taking part will be the Word Of Life choir.

Christmas activities in Valletta organised by the National Folklore Commission of the Tourism and Culture Ministry in aid of the Community Chest Fund kick off today at 6 p.m. with a programme of entertainment.

Taking part will be the Word Of Life choir. Special guests will be Nadine Axisa, Loauanna Caruana, Grecia Bezzina, Jessica Magro, Dario Bezzina, Wild Strength School of Talent, Benny and Tonia and Tiziana Bonello.

The Wallace Bag Pipes will march from Freedom Square, along Republic, Merchants and St John streets starting at 7 p.m.

A number of cribs taking part in a crib competition will be open to the public as from today. A list of the cribs can be obtained by sending an e-mail to antonmiceli@maltaculture.com or phone 2124 5168.

Tomorrow at 10 a.m., Scouts from the South District will march along the streets of Valletta, followed by a Christmas parade in Republic Street.

Activities will shift to the tent at Freedom Square at 6 p.m. when a variety programme by Annalise Dance Studio and Angelic Voices Choir will be held.

Another variety programme will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m. in Freedom Square with the participation of Romina Vella's choir, the Fjur t'Assisi Choir of Gozo, Main Stream Agency, Francesca Zarb, Carlos Choir, Jessica Muscat, Group, Alexia Schembri, Rita Pace, Juan Paul Galea and Joe Cutajar. There will also be a Disney Show by Curtain Raiser.

At 6 p.m. on Sunday, there will be a performance by a brass band led by Salvu Giordimaina in Republic, Melita, Merchants and St John streets.

Activities continue on Monday with a variety evening at Freedom Square at 6 p.m. with the choir of Mount Carmel Musical Society of Gzira, Keith and Adonelle Dancers, Pippa Gee Dancers, Corinne Turner Dancing School, Vanessa Gatt and Deborah Cassar. The Hamrun Scouts will march along Republic Street at 7.15 p.m.
