A Libyan was yesterday charged with defrauding a Maltese man of Lm7,400.

Magistrate Anthony Vella heard Ali Abdalla Elbackush, 42, of Valletta plead not guilty to defrauding Patrick Pace and misappropriating the money on and before December this year.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm5,000.

Police Inspector Kevin Borg prosecuted.

Lawyer Franco Debono was defence counsel.
