Over 25,000 passengers were ferried between the Park and Ride parking area in Blata l-Bajda and Freedom Square, Valletta since December 1, the Malta Transport Authority (ADT) said yesterday.

Park and Ride mini-vans carried over 4,234 passengers on Wednesday. The mini-vans were leaving the car park more or less every two minutes, the ADT said.

The Park and Ride scheme, launched last month, provides an alternate means of access to Valletta, and eases the traffic load in the city.

On Christmas and New Year's Day, the service will run between 6 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
