The police are investigating a hold-up during which an undisclosed sum of money was stolen from a company employee in Valletta.

The police said the theft occurred as the employee, who was carrying a sum of money, was about to board a van in Ordnance Street, Valletta at about 9.15 a.m.

At this point, two men on a motorcycle stopped near the van and one of them, who threateningly pointed a forearm at the employee, demanded money from him.

No one was injured in the incident.

The motorcycle was found abandoned in Jews Sally Port, Valletta.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi appointed a team of court experts to help in an inquiry.
