Champions Celtic restored their 16-point lead in the Scottish Premier League with a 2-1 win at bottom side Dunfermline yesterday.
Second-half goals from Aiden McGeady and Maciej Zurawski secured the win in dreadful conditions as strong winds and rain whipped across the pitch. Dunfermline replied in the final minute as Steve Simmons slotted a low shot past keeper Artur Boruc.
Celtic top the SPL standings with 47 points from 18 games while Rangers trail on 31 from 18 following their 3-0 win over Hibernian on Saturday.
The two Glasgow clubs clash on Sunday at Ibrox in another Old Firm match-up which, even though the season is only four months old, is unlikely to have any impact on the destination of the title.
