The police still have no clue on the whereabouts of 18-year-old Christian Camilleri who mysteriously went missing a fortnight ago after a minor car accident on the Coast Road.
A number of sightings have been reported since his disappearance, police sources said yesterday, but nothing significant has been uncovered.
A 15-strong party carried out regular searches since his disappearance and on Wednesday a wide-scale search was mounted involving both the Civil Protection Department and the police but it yielded no trace at all of the missing teenager.
His mother Frances had told The Sunday Times her son had gone missing on November 26 after he called home saying he had had an accident on the Coast Road. He had gone out the night before and was out till the early hours of Sunday morning.
Accompanied by her husband Charlie and two of his brothers, Mrs Camilleri said she went to see what had happened and make sure he was alright.
"We met him on the way to where the accident happened. We asked if he was OK and told him to come with us so we'd take him home but he wanted to walk. It was not far," Mrs Camilleri recalled.
"I did not suspect anything. I thought he wanted to walk to unwind, to relax," she said.
Mr Camilleri is six foot tall, has short hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black top and jeans.
