Twenty-five months ago we had welcomed the initiative taken by the College of Parish Priests to publish a monthly magazine called Flimkien. The motor behind the initiative was, and still is, Fr Tony Portelli. He managed to do what others always wanted to do but failed.

Today Flimkien reaches most Maltese homes every month. The editor, Carmel Conti, comes out with a product that is varied and interesting. Short articles about many different subjects are the hallmark of Flimkien. The design, by the Church's Media Centre, is very attractive.

The Christmas edition of Flimkien is accompanied by a CD featuring Christmas carols and readings from the Bible.

This is a gift of the College of Parish Priests to Maltese families. The CD was produced by people working with the Church's Media Centre and RTK. This is a very welcome idea. The Christmas spirit is communicated in a Christian way, countering so much commercialisation.

Praise all round for all those who are producing this monthly magazine. It is a pity that some are not yet subscribed to it.
