Large-format bills for disabled Maltacom customers

Maltacom has introduced the option for disabled persons to start receiving their bills in a large format with larger fonts. The new bills are printed on A3 paper and are double in size of the standard telephone bills.

Persons wishing to apply for the service have to be in possession of a Special Identity Card (SID) issued by Kummissjoni Nazzjonali Persuni B'Dizabilità (KNPD).

Maltacom's head of Communications and Public Affairs, Franco Aloisio, said: "This initiative further strengthens Maltacom's drive to maintain its position as the leading telecommunications organisation in the local marketplace by providing accessible services to all customers, including those who have visual impairments. This is yet another element of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme."

The initiative to launch large font bills is yet another outcome of the healthy relationship that has always existed between Maltacom and the KNPD. Years back, Maltacom worked hard to provide Telecare and TAFDA services in the Maltese Islands.

More recently, Maltacom made all the structural and other modifications transforming its one-stop-shop customer care outlet in St Francis Ravelin, Floriana, into a fully, easily accessible facility for people with disabilities. And in collaboration with the Foundation for Information Technology Accessibility (FITA), the Maltacom Group portal www.maltacom.com is accessible to all, including blind persons.
