Art Without Borders is the theme of a children's art exhibition showcasing works by refugee and Maltese children.

The exhibition, which will be held at St James Cavalier, in Valletta, from tomorrow till December 17 is organised by the Malta Medical Students' Association (MMSA).

MMSA spokesman Claude Bajada said the works on display are by children from the Hal Far open centre and pupils from St Joseph School, Blata l-Bajda.

"We are offering children from the open centre the opportunities that local children take for granted, to be able to truly enjoy the power lying within a paper and a pencil.

"Children's drawings are not works of art but works of expression," Mr Bajada said.

MMSA would like to portray children as a future that is full of potential, diversity, tolerance and acceptance. Through children's art, the association wishes to promote what its standing committee stands for: human rights and peace.

The exhibition will be opened by Sonja Camilleri, Commissioner for Children.
